Bookkeeping and financial record keeping are a time-consuming and unwelcome part of running a business. However, it doesn’t have to be that way! Taxfile can take on the task of record keeping for you, saving you an enormous amount of time over the course of a typical business year. Your time can then be spent making extra sales or doing something fun or relaxing instead.
How much does the service cost?
For a simple monthly or annual price, we’ll do all your bookkeeping for you, make sure any income is offset against allowable expenses and ensure that the whole process is streamlined and simple from your perspective. We’re professional bookkeepers, tax advisors and accountants. So, we know exactly how best to prepare your books and records, so they’re complete and accurate, ready for the tax man when the time comes. Our fee is tailor-made to your particular set-up. For example, it depends upon how many transactions need to be recorded in an average month, whether you are VAT registered and so on. We recommend letting us see your existing records — or at least a copy of two or three typical months — so that we can take a look and come back to you with a quotation for you to consider.
VAT handling & VAT returns
For those that are VAT registered, our bookkeeping service includes the handling and analysis of VAT — of course. We’re also expert at preparing, calculating and submitting VAT returns to HMRC on your behalf, potentially taking another time-consuming chore off your hands.
Accounting software: we use Sage, Xero, FreeAgent & more
We also know our way around virtually every bookkeeping and accounting software package on the market, so can help you whether you use Sage, Xero, FreeAgent or something else. We can also recommend a package to suit your business if you’re only just starting out with electronic accounts records.
Another benefit of having us professionally manage your bookkeeping is so that we can reconcile your bank statements against your business books and records. Indeed, we actively encourage our clients to supply bank statement data as hard copies or — even better — downloaded PDFs, CSV or Excel spreadsheet files. Many banks now allow you to save these kinds of export files and having access to them really helps us when we are bookkeeping on your behalf. They may even help to lower our fees, in fact. Additionally they might highlight some expenses that might otherwise have been missed. That too could save you money because expenses can be offset against your income or profits, potentially saving you tax.
